This measure tracks the percentage of children that receive a lead test before 2 years old.

Measure requirenments:
- Testing every child between the ages of 12 and 24 months old
- If a child between the ages of 25 and 72 months, doesn’t have any Lead test documented – must be tested
- Testing for children in high risk environments (ig. Old houses) – required
- Follow-up for elevated results (≥ 3.5 µg/dL)
How to meet the measure?
- Try to incorporate this test into the well child visits
- Use EHR to flag any missing tests
- Use EHR to capture the needed data
- Don’t forget to report the results

- Vanipuncture coding-36415 (venous) or 36416 (capillary/fingerstick)
- Counseling coding-Codes 99401-99404 may be used for preventive counseling regarding lead
- ICD-10 coding- Z13.88: Screening for lead Z77.011: Contact with and (suspected) exposure to lead
