Hi, My name is Kateryna Patskovska, CPB, AAPC Approved Instructor (CPB-I)
I am a certified medical biller as well as an AAPC Approved Instructor for Medical Billing (CPB-I). I have over 19 years of experience in Healthcare Field serving in various positions: medical receptionist, medical biller, supervisor, Practice Manager, etc.
In 2019 I started my journey of a public speaker/independent educator. Teaching is my passion! My educational presenations/webinars cover various topics in healthcare field and are available for various levels of experience. DID YOU KNOW- Earlier in my career I wanted to be a Pre-K and Kindergarden teacher?
Since 2019, my current and past public speaking engagements include- AMBA, SFHIMA chapter and various AAPC Chapters. Starting in October 2007 and through the next 6 years, I worked for a Utilization Management Company- creating/processing OT/PT prior authorization cases. The experience within the company helped me acquire the knowledge of inner workings of prior authorization part of the healthcare system.
In December of 2014, I joined the office of Dr. Celina P. John (Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology), where I worked as a Practice Manager, until June 2022. My duties included overseeing day to day operations of the office including: benefits investigation, reimbursement policies, prior authorizations, appeals, patient scheduling, training new and current staff, etc.
Since April 2019– I decided to narrow my focus to providing educational training sessions/webinars (various associations) for other certified professionals, as well as other administrative staff.- any level of experience.
October 2021- Took AAPC CBP-I exam and passed, obtaining my AAPC Approved Instructor Certificate!
Although medical billing is fast paced, challenging field, I do try to keep myself current on all up-to-date healthcare news, regulations, government incentive programs, changes in medical billing and medical coding guidance. I always wanted to teach the next generation of medical billers and obtaining my AAPC Approved Instructor Certification in Medical Billing paved the way for me!
November 2021- Published an Article: Common Genetic Testing Types and Reimbursement Trends in AAPC Monthly HBM.
July of 2022- I joined Varsity Tutors
I joined as a SME on Medical Billing and currently tutor other students that are in healthcare field and are seeking CPB (AAPC) certification!

I joined NY MetroPlus Health as a OON Negotiator/Health Care Program Planner/Analyst.
