Proper Coding:

• H0035-Mental Health Partial Hospitalization (PHP) treatment, less than 24 hours, billed on a per diem (per day) basis
• A0090 Non-emergency transportation, per mile – vehicle provided by individual (e.g., family member, volunteer) with a vested interest.
• A0120 Non-emergency transportation: mini-bus, mountain area transports, or other transportation systems. In the context of NJ Partial Care, it is used for behavioral health transport.
• A0425 Ground mileage, per statute mile

Billing:

• A codes should have modifier UC- to identify a specific transportation services related to mental health or partial care.
• If the member was transported to and from the facility – provider should bill 2 units for PC Transportation
• All partial transportation claims need to have the code H0035 with midifer UC
• For code A0425- provider must bill A0090 UC, A0120 UC
• The Transportation s services need to be billed under facility not individual rendering provider
