If you are a provider that accepts Cigna Health members that already are on the Caboplatin, then this blog post is for you!
Cigna Health has announced that due to the temporary Carboplatin manufacturing shortage, the acceptable replacement will be accepted is Kyxata.
Provider- what you need to know:
- Replacement medication Kyxata will be given to the patients that already have a prior auth for the Carboplatin- under the medical benefit
- This temporary solution is to ensure the continuity of care without any disruptions
- For any patient that will start on Kyxata- provider please follow the standard prior authorization request process
- If the medication is coming through the pharmacy benefit- please follow the standard prior authorization process
Currently there is no date on when the shortage will end, so until further notice Cigna Healthcare will continue to accept Kyxata.
