Are you a NY provider that submitted a corrected claim and received a code 6U, then this blog post is for you!
Submitting a corrected claim is something that providers are familiar with. However, let’s not forget that the process may vary between payers, including the timely filling frame.
In the following blog post we are going to look at the corrected claim submission change for Fidelis claims (NY).
What changed?
- Do not submit the corrected claim UNTIL the original claim has been adjudicated and a response has been received- claim is finalized
- If the privider will submit the corrected claim BEFORE the original claim was finalized the provider will receive a rejection code: U6- Unfinalized claim; replacement cannot be accepted.
As per Fidelis- this new step will reduce the reprocessing claim time and delays.
