One of the issues that many medical billers face is not knowing when payers change/update member benefits/cards. Sometimes these changes happen at the beginning of the year and sometimes not.
Although, there are payer portals – that doesnt mean that there will be the most up-to-date information – ex. updated claims address.
If claims info/address or network/benefits have changed, resulting in new cards, it is extremely important for medical billers to know these changes in order to make sure to avoid any revenue issues.
